Local dealership sponsors community cricket programme

Greenhous Saab is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring the Shrewsbury Cricket Club for a fourth season.

As part of an ongoing relationship with Shropshire's leading club, the dealership is providing a new Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition 1.9 TiD Sportwagon to the club's latest international signing and for the club's Chairman, Andy Barnard.

Australia's Paul Donaldson will be joining the team for the summer season and will use the car to travel to club fixtures as well to travel to local schools where he will coach enthusiastic youngsters as part of Britain's ‘Chance to Shine' campaign; a privately funded scheme that aims to create sustainable cricket within one third of all state schools in the UK.

The scheme uses the power of cricket and competitive sport to help young people acquire important skills, values and attitudes for the future and Shrewsbury Cricket Club has been involved for many years. This year, it's participation in the scheme continues to grow with more than 140 juniors from local Shropshire schools set to enroll on the programme over the summer.

We're proud to be able to get involved in funding the project and to provide Paul with a Saab 9-3 Sportswagon for the duration of his stay.

Andy Barnard, Chairman of Shrewsbury Cricket Club, adds: "We're really pleased that Greenhous Saab has been able to sponsor us again. Our junior coaching programme is set to be bigger than ever before, so it's really important for Paul to be able to travel around independently to coach juniors at various schools across the area, so the 9-3 Sportswagon will help make sure he is travelling in style."
